When Blood Group Testing Is Useful

Blood Group and IVF: Does It Change Success?
Blood group is not considered a major predictor of IVF success. IVF outcomes depend more on age, ovarian reserve, sperm quality, embryo quality, uterine lining, genetic factors, and the reason for infertility.
Before IVF, your doctor may still record your blood group and Rh status as part of routine safety planning. If you become pregnant after IVF and are Rh negative, your pregnancy will be monitored just as it would be after natural conception. The method of conception does not remove the need for good antenatal care.
